Dreamer's Town
This is a song that I wrote for my friend, Shirley. I promised to write her a short but sweet love song last year. I know the song is short but that's the way she wants it to be. :) I don't see a point in repeating the whole song one more time anyway.
In this song I sing and played the guitar myself at the same time. I might re-record the song again using a microphone soon.
This song is dedicated to Shirley and another person whom I miss very much.
(Lyrics below, if you encounter any problems playing the song, just refresh your browser and try again.)
"Dreamer's Town"
Lyrics by kel.
Travelled so long
since we left the place
the shame is closing down on me.
Cried for so long
since the last of days
the pain is crushing down on me.
Does it matter?
if we sing out loud
it's fine as long as we feel proud.
Nothing matters
we can't lift the curse
I feel like we're just left in the lurch.
(Chorus)
Why don't we just build a town?
It doesn't matter even if the world is round
'cos its all, just a game
for the dreamers to play.
And we dig, and we bleed
leave away your fears
'cos we won't retreat.
And it's all, just a game
for the dreamers to play.
We're leaving it all in place
we're leaving it all in place
we're leaving it all in place
at the end of the day.
(End of chorus)

My New Guitar
Heyas. I'm at my friend's house right now. We're going to engage in a sex orgy soon but I'm gonna do a little update for you guys first.
As you all know, I just bought a new kickass guitar last week. I'm sure many of you guys know which one I'm talking about cos it's the one with lots of stickers on it. I named the guitar "Joey". I now own a grand total of 3 guitars. I think it's worth mentioning that my very first guitar was given by my aunt.
Eric Koh says each sticker on the guitar would make it's tone worse and worse. But I can't be bothered cos it's just a cheap Yamaha that I bought from a Flea market. I was walking around with my friends at Bugis the other day when we came across the guitar. For 30 fucking dollars I can bring home this sweet baby and I knew I had to get it. I polished it and Alvin helped to replace the strings on it and 15 minutes later... VOILA! LOOKS LIKE ITS BRAND NEW. (but its not)
People have been coming up to me, wanting to take a closer look at the stickers. Seeing that I bought this guitar with YOUR money (my money was earned from last year's concert night), I think you guys deserves to know what's on the guitar. I'm gonna show you the stickers up close and give a brief explanation of each below:

Top Row from left:
1. Transformers: Urh, the first one is the icon of the "Autobots" from the show "Transformers". These are supposedly the good guys from the show. I got the stickers from (classmate) winnie's younger brother when I was over at her place for mahjong. They don't come cheap though, I lost $8 dollars at the mahjong table that day. But still, such a nice kid. (Not winnie)
2. Ice Cream Man: No idea what this is. (classmate) Lina gave it to me the day after I bought the guitar. I'll probably ask her tonight what it is then I'll update you guys on that.
3. Rocket Ship: Just some rocket stickers I bought from a stall at the flea market. I now have one on my locker too.
4. Get Green!: Some environmental bullshit sticker which Lina also gave to me.
5. Decemberists Sticker: "Decemberists" is an indie-rock band from Portland. I don't like their music but I thought what the hell, it's a nice looking sticker and I have space on my guitar.
Middle row from left:
1. FAWM: FAWM stands for "February Album Writing Month". It's actually a group of people dedicated to writing good music. Maybe I'll take part in it some day. Eric gave this sticker to me and challenged me to write a song like "Stairway to Heaven". Hmm, anyone knows where I can buy some cheap heroin?
2. Some gayass company sticker: Alvin gave me this sticker. I think it belongs to his dad or something. I thought it looked like some sci-fi movie from far so it had to go on the guitar.
3. Cartoon strip: Also given by Alvin (classmate). It's a cartoon strip. I'm not gonna say what it's about here.
Bottom row from left:
1. More Transformers: These are the bad guys from the show "Transformers". I think they're way cooler than the "Autobots": having a huge clumsy ass truck as a leader is stupid in my opinion.
2. Round orange sticker: It's just some sticker related to music. Given by Eric. Boring.
3. Vote Yes on JJ: Some sticker to encourage legalization of Marijuana in the US. I'll explain abit more on this later.
4. Batman!: A Batman sticker which has the message "See You Next Time" on it. My initial reaction to that was: "WTF?" Till this day I couldn't find any relations at all between Batman and the message "C u nxt time". Again, from winnie's brother.
This is the right side of the guitar:
1. NORML: It stands for "The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws". The reason why I'm in favor of having Marijuana legalized is cos John Lennon was in support of it when he was alive. Both he and McCartney made LSD famous in the past, and even though they used it extensively, they still turned out fine and went on to become musical legends.
2. Idaho Dance Theatre: Self-explanatory.

This is the bottom side of the guitar:
1. bejeezus loves me: My favourite sticker! Mark (classmate) gave it to me."Bejeezus" actually means "surprise" or in Singaporean terms, it means "WAHHHH". It's a parody of the phrase "Jesus loves me". No religion issues intended, I just think it's hilarious. :D
And that's all! I'm currently looking for the sticker with the Adidas symbol on it, but with the word "Marijuana" below it. If you have it, I'll buy it off you! I'm gonna stick that on my new guitar! :D Either that, or if you have stickers with the following characters on it, I'll buy it from you:
-Mickey Mouse
-Garfield
-Pooh Bear
-Kung Fu Panda
-Tom & Jerry
Before I go, a couple of things that are coming up:
1) I just finished writing a new song with the new guitar. I'll be uploading a recording of it tonight.
2) Me and the Doodles did an interview with some students from Mass media last week. It's a project to get more people to support local music. I'll be getting my slave (winnie) to type out the interview here and probably be updating it tomorrow.
Oh yah, if you wanna take a closer look or touch my new guitar, just come up to me when you see me in school. And urh, if you wanna touch me as well, I just wanna say its completely fine to do that. (Selective personnel only.)
Cheers.

And I wanna thank the people who gave me gifts:

I've been receiving gifts from you guys since last week and I really appreciate them. I can't eat the chocolates yet cos I need to save my voice, but I'll keep em till after the gig then I'll eat them. :) Special shout-out to "xiao hui" for giving me a "Led Zeppelin IV" and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album. I can't really understand the chinese words that you wrote on the card but thank you so much. :D And for the person who bought me a monopoly board game, LOL??? But we did spend an hour playing it though, until kenneth decided to be an asshole and messed up the game. Also thanks so much for the bottles of herbal tea and boxes of chicken essence. And I read all the cards that I received already, thanks for all the sweet messages. :) I haven't unwrapped everything yet but I'll post it in my next update if I find anything interesting. :)
Oh and by the way, the Doodles have been issued an official WARNING LETTER by the SAC to inform us that if we utter any vulgarities on stage that day, we will be fined anywhere between $50 - $200. We are the only band to be issued that warning letter. So now its a decision between being myself on stage or losing $200. Too bad for them, we've got $200 to spare, no problem. So I'm gonna say whatever I want on stage and if they really do fine us, we'll boycott their future events and never play for them again.
That's all for now. I'll probably upload a new song recording tonight when I get home, if I'm not too tired.
Cheers.
